HubSpot Integration Installation Guide

Introduction and Prerequisites

This article is a tutorial on the necessary steps that you need to take to install our LicenseSpring HubSpot integration on your HubSpot instance.

We are assuming that you have a LicenseSpring instance set up beforehand and that you have the required HubSpot admin permissions needed to install applications on it and edit page views.

App Installation

The integration is a HubSpot app that can be installed by going to your settings view in your LicenseSpring platform, and clicking on the Integration tab.

Integrations Tab in LicenseSpring Settings.

In the integration tab if you scroll down, you will be able to see the HubSpot integration section.

Choose the Management API key that you want the integration to use in the dropdown component and click Confirm. This will redirect you to HubSpot.

LicenceSpring Management API Key Selection Box.

Once redirected you will need to select the HubSpot account on which you want the integration app to be installed.

Choose an account for LicenseSpring Integration.

After clicking Choose Account you will be shown all the permissions that the integration needs to function correctly.

Connecting LicenseSpring App to HubSpot instance.

After accepting the permissions the app will be installed on your HubSpot instance.

APP UI / CRM Pages Setup

Once the app is installed, you will need to add the application's UI to the Contacts and Companies CRM pages.

To do this you will need to go to the HubSpot settings page in the upper right corner. Once in Settings, find the Integrations section and under Integrations there's the Connected Apps section.

Viewing the Connected LicenseSpring Application.

This page shows you all your third party apps that you have installed on your instance. Find the LicenseSpring Integrations app and click on its blue name.

This will take you to the apps UI setup.

Apps UI Setup Page.

Before that you will need to click on either the Company Licenses or the Contact Licenses. In the following example we clicked on the Contact Licenses and this took us to the View page for the Contacts Views/Pages where we can see all our views that we have for the Contacts in our HubSpot CRM.

In the example we only have the Default View, but you might have more than just the Default View, so pick the View that you are currently using or are planning for the integration's UI to live in.

View Selection Screen.

After clicking on the View, the View Editor will open up for the specific View you have chosen. In the editor you will need to add the application's UI or as HubSpot calls it a Card.

The adding of the card depends on your preference but we recommend that you add the integration to a new tab called LicenseSpring in the middle section of the screen/view (or on an already existing tab's middle section).

In the example below we are going to click on the Add Cards and add our already existing card on the Overview tab in the middle section of the View.

Add Cards Button.

After clicking on the Add Cards button, you'll need to search for Contact License card under the Apps section, and check the checkbox next to Contact License.

Choosing Card Type and Application in Pop-Up.

This will add the card at the bottom of the tab. You can then drag and drop the card wherever you prefer in the tab.

Moving the card to preferred location.

If you followed all the steps, you are done with the Contact setup and you can click on the Save and Exit button on the top right of the screen.

Now you will need to set up the Company view also. To do this you will need to repeat similar steps but for the Company view:

1

Go to the LicenseSpring connected app in HubSpot settings

Settings -> Integrations -> Connected Apps -> LicenseSpring Integrations

2

Open the Company License card

Click on the Company License Card.

3

Select the View

Click on the Default view (or the view you use).

4

Add the Company License card

Add the existing Card to the middle of the tab by clicking Add Cards, searching for Company License, and checking the checkbox.

5

Save changes

Click Save and Exit in the upper right corner of the screen.
